Ashwin Navaratri 2020 in India

Message from Haidakhandi Samaj

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I trust you are all safe and in good spirits with the grace of Babaji.

In India, 87,000 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on 20th September, 2020; and on 10th September, a record 97,000 new cases were reported in a single day. If one goes by the statistical projections, we could be touching 150,000 new cases per day by 10th October, 2020. This increase in numbers of new cases is unprecedented and therefore poses a grave threat to the entire Indian population.

With this Covid-19 situation in mind, I held detailed discussions with the senior leadership of the Haidakhandi Samaj posing just one central question: ‘Should we celebrate the Ashwin Navaratras starting from 17th October, 2020 at the Anandpuri Ashram?’
I received a unanimous NO from all. The common opinion was that we would potentially expose all the devotees to the virus and they would include those arriving from outside the ashram; devotees currently resident in the Ashram at Chilianaula; as well as our workforce employed at the Ashram and at both the hospitals.

Therefore, with a heavy heart I regret to announce that we would NOT be holding the Ashwin Navaratras celebrations at Anandpuri Ashram, Chilianaula this year.

Brothers and Sisters, I humbly request you not to travel to the Anandpuri Ashram, Chilianaula this year. However, a low-key celebration will be conducted with just the Ashram staff, with no visitors attending.

Let us all pray together wherever we are, in the spirit of truth, simplicity & love to Babaji, to rid mankind of this Covid-19 challenge. Babaji is always with us and we all know, where Babaji resides, that place becomes the abode of universal love, compassion and selfless service. We will celebrate the Ashwin Navaratras this year in our hearts and in our homes – in both letter and spirit. This shall be done quietly in a disciplined manner, as shown to us by our Guru, Shri 1008 Haidakhan Wale Baba.
We will all be together again very soon, to rejoice as one family, during our beloved Haidakhandi festivities. Till that time, let us pray together – for each other and for all mankind.

Bhole Baba Ki Jai!

Warm regards,
(Honorary) Brig. Dr. Arvind Lal
Chairman, Haidakhandi Samaj
