2017 Chaitra Navaratri Havan speeches

Havan_speeches_1Day 1
Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Welcome, Ladies & Gentleman, Brothers & Sisters, at Herakhan Vishwa Mahadham, on the very auspicious moment of Chaitra Navaratri 2074 according to the Vedic Calendar. The chairman of our Haidakhandi Samaj, Shri Alok Banerjee, will soon start with the first havan of a 9 day yagna dedicated to the radiantly beautiful Divine Mother Durga and to our beloved Guruji Shri Shri 1008 Haidakhan whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti Acharya will recite the Sanskrit mantra’s & sloka’s to invoke the various Divine aspects to collect our offerings.

As Mayapatti pointed out that the Divine Mother is the essence of Love, the core of beauty and the root of goodness. We can pray to Her in many ways, we celebrate, we sing Her praise, cover Her in flowers and offer the best we have. Blessings descend upon us and those we carry in our hearts and nurture creation in general. Durga Maya ki Jai ! We can put a turbo charge on our devotional practices and deepen the intimate relationship we have with Her, by practicing actively Love, inner beauty and goodness. By treating our own dark side with Love, by seeking the Divine, the good in others and radiate this in the world around us. By being constantly aware of negative thoughts popping up in our mind and converting them instantly in a loving and nurturing view. With such a moment to moment practice, we become extensions of the Divine Mother’s Love & beauty and make our world a better one. It is easy here, where Love & beauty is already in abundance, but when life does not go as we see it, when we meet a challenging person or scrub a dirty toilet left by a careless person, it is often not so easy. This is however the real moment where the growth on our spiritual path presents itself. These are the moments where we can see the truth of whom we are and opportunities for progress arise. The choice is ours and ours alone. We have the opportunity to make our world a better one, by starting at home with ourselves. Let us now invoke the Divine for assistance in our process with a wonderful fire ceremony. Bhole Baba ki Jai !

Day 2

Good morning, Brothers & Sisters, assembled here at the sacred fireplace on the second day of Navaratri. Shortly, Shri Alok Banerjee will commence the second havan of the 9 day yagna dedicated to our magnificent Divine Mother Durga and to the Lord who guided you here, Shri Shri 1008 Haidakhan Whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti Acharya will recite the Sanskrit mantra’s & sloka’s.

How wonderful to be away from our worldly life and spend some days in this Himalayan paradise in these auspicious days. The world seems to get more and more confusing and life more difficult for many people. Opposing powers scream louder and louder and extremes are the norm these days. It is easy to point at Trump, Putin, Modi or their colleges around the world but names and faces change and the tendencies that create the challenges for humanity remain. From the ancient scriptures that Acharya reads in the temple, we can learn that it is part of our lower human nature and has always been there, exalting in a kranti from time to time. Something to rise above for our consciousness, towards Light, our higher human nature. It is cleat that at present, one of the governing powers in the world is greed. The rule of “more for me” is loudly advocated through the media by political, economic and corporate leaders around the world. Greed is the rotten fruit stemming from desire. Desire is something we can all recognize within ourselves. Those who have not can blame those who have, but that will only keep this malicious treadmill turning around. To evolve, we need to recognize how our own desires are bending and twisting our own thinking and destroying our inner peace. With awareness honestly investigating this, aided with our spiritual practices, we can curb these enormous forces dominating humanity, starting with ourselves. By doing so, the vibrations you emanate will consciously and unconsciously inspire others. Ignorance has lead us astray, but we all wish inside to unite with our own Divine Nature. This holy fire is another way to unite with our Divine nature. Let us concentrate. Bhole Baba ki Jai !

Day 3

Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Gathered again, Brothers & Sisters, in between the holy mount Kailash and the sacred Gautami Ganga river at the mouth of God, this Divine havankund, on the third day of Navaratri. Shri Alok Banerjee will now initiate the third havan of the 9 day yagna dedicated to the splendorous Divine Mother Durga and to our benefactor Shri Shri 1008 Herakhan Whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti Acharya will read the Sanskrit mantra’s & sloka’s. How beautifully everything is decorated and organized again for the havan here. Like many more things around here as the kitchen, the temples, the office etc more or less coming together spontaneously to enjoy together this festival to the source of all the Divine Mother Durga. Here where we are standing is also dug out from the mountain with basic tools by hand by hundreds of devotees. Same with the gardens and fields on the other side. They are great examples of what Karmayoga united can create besides the personal benefits for the practitioner. The intention we have to do karmayoga is a very important part of the process. Even if we work hard, but with our mind we think we are better or complain about others etc, there is no yoga happening, only karma! It can be heavy and intense in the kitchen or chopping wood, carrying stones or be boring to be on guard or cleaning toilets. It all depends how we look at it, with what state of mind we practice and notice where the jewels on our spiritual part are hidden. It is childish to run away from duties or believing one has risen above a certain seva and missing the essence of Shri Babaji’s teachings. We may need time to realize such things as the egoic mind is tricky. What is our intention to be here, to be His devotee and walk the path we are walking? There are many layers in the simple teachings Babaji has given us to discover. By following them, Bhole Baba will walk with us all the way and guide us towards a deeper understanding, and a better world. Bhole Baba ki Jai !

Day 4

Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Together hugging this sacred fireplace, we have gathered again for the fourth day of this Navaratri. Now Shri Alok Banerjee will proceed with the 4th havan of the 9 day yagna dedicated to the illustrious Divine Mother Durga and to the Guru of guru’s Shri Shri 1008 Herakhan wale Baba. Shri Mayapatti Acharya will now recite the Sanskrit mantra’s and sloka’s. It is a great blessing to call Babaji our Guru, our teacher, but how are we doing as His disciples? Babaji teaches Love, serve all humanity and to assist every one. Not so hard perhaps to do this during such an energetic gathering here, but when we meet challenging people we do not like, it is not so easy to see the Divine presence in their heart. Those who present the biggest challenge to us are also our teachers as they show us something deep about ourselves, who we are and how we can improve. We are no great yogi’s and swami’s here in the traditional sense, but we are just trying to make the Divine, Babaji, the focus in our lives. This does not mean we have to give up everything and be afraid of touching the worldly things. The Divine is present everywhere and the point is not to get attached to the passing phenomena and have our focus there. This is with material things, beliefs, relationships and other continuous changing appearances we entertain in our lives, but always be aware of them arising out of the Divine presence. This is supreme yoga and everybody alike can practice this with awareness and honesty. Being a student, we practice what will strengthen our focus on the Divine and let go things, believes and people in our lives that may block the process on our path. Babaji is presenting this beautiful transforming fire now, let us put our focus there. Bhole Baba ki Jai !

Day 5

Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Welcome to the new arrivals and happy continuation to those who are here from the start, as we are now half way, the 5th day of Chaitra Navaratri. Our chairman, Shri Alok Banerjee will now guide us into the fifth havan of the 9 day yagna dedicated to the seed of knowledge, the Divine Mother Durga and to the guide through life’s darkness, Shri Shri 1008 Herakhan whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti Acharya is reciting the Sanskrit mantra’s and sloka’s to call on the Divine to collect our offerings. This sacred fire ritual is stemming from thousands of years back, even before the veda’s were written. The veda’s themselves are thousands of years old and contain the highest knowledge of creation of which we, with mind, body and soul, are part. Many beautiful scriptures like the Shrimad Devi Bhagvatam have been created by Divine inspiration after this to uplift humanity and educate us about our potential. Written in such a beautiful way that thru all these ages, for all levels of intelligence and consciousness, humanity was able to develop spiritually. The many rituals that came forth from all these are all aiding and pointing in the same direction. The essence of all this is that the Divine is our very true nature and always present in our very own heart. This is, for every human being, the same quest to discover, male, female, white or black, Indian, Chinese or otherwise, Hindu, Islam or Christian. We humans have created so many ways to get confused and lost on the path but still the Divine is as close to us as it always was, imbedded in our own heart. Just thinking or hearing this however does not change the many layers of ignorance we have in our conscious and unconscious mind. Babaji has come to our life and is offering His guidance to all of us individually and as part of His family. His simple teachings of karma yoga, Truth, Simplicity & Love, being human and focused on Om Namaha Shivay and your Divine essence will still need to be applied in your life to connect deeply and constantly. For your benefit and that of humanity at large, this is the way forward. Here with this sacred fire in front of us, we have a wonderful opportunity to be still and aware of the Divine inside and outside of us. Bhole baba ki Jai ! Durga Maya ki Jai !

Day 6

Bhole Baba ki Jai! May peace be upon you, as we are now on the 6th day of Navaratri. Shri Alok Banerjee will now lead us into the sixth havan of the 9 day yagna dedicated to our splendorous Dinine Mother Durga and to the Lord of Herakhan, Shri Shri 1008 Herakhan whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti & Shri Vinod Acharya are reciting the havan mantra’s together. One important part of this powerful fire ritual we are about to start is at the very beginning where the Acharya and the main celebrant, here Alokji are acting for all of us. It is named the Sankalp. From this vast universe, we call the attention of the Divine to this particular place at this exact time to be with us and we set our intention. A very important aspect of this puja done for the benefit of all of us present here. It is wise to go also inside for a moment to set our own intention of being here and now. We can also invite our loved ones who cannot be present and focus on our own lives and envision the direction we would like it to take. Babaji has advocated that it is very important to have a goal, a direction, an intention in our lives. He said “I have come to give, but you do not know what to ask for”. Contemplate this for a moment, brothers and sisters. On one side, all the wanting in our life is generally a disease and keeping us from peace while on the other side, to fulfill our karma’s, our life purpose, it is necessary to have an intention and give it direction. May we all be in harmony and be successful in the fulfillment of our intentions. Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Durga Maya ki Jai !

Havan_speeches_3Day 7

Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Bliss prevailing, brothers & sisters, as we have reached the 7th day of this joyful Navaratri. Shorthly, Shri Alok Banerjee will conduct the seventh havan of the 9 day yagna dedicated to the essence of happiness, the delightful Divine Mother Durga and to our biggest well wisher Shri Shri 1008 Herakhan whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti & Shri Vinod Acharya will be reciting the Sanskrit mantra’s and sloka’s together to entice the Divine to dwell amongst us. How powerful and joyful are the vibrations prevailing in the Herakhan valley now. Hearts are popping open like flowers. What is it that we feel so far away from this in our day to day life at home, while the Divine lives in our heart and is present everywhere? We are occupied with our families, relationships, friends, work, hobbies, and our quota of possessions and this takes up most of our focus. In doing so, it turns into my position, my life, my possessions, my believes and my opinions. Compared to the boundless expansive Divine vibrations, our life is small, narrow and limited. When our karma’s are generously providing what we like, we are not so aware how we are caught up in the web of Maya. In an hour of need and hardship however, we call intensely on the Divine for assistance. Hopeless beings, caught in the same old cycle, again and again. Our karma’s dictate that we need to do what we need to do, but we are free to have our focus on the Divine, our true nature while we do that. Thru the powerfully purifying vibrations of the Divine Mother, Babaji and the rituals performed here, the truth of the matter comes so much closer and alive. Our lives are generally spend in the anxiety of fear and desire, so Divine vibrations do not match well in what some may call the real world out there. Contemplate how this is for you in your life and let us enjoy the revealing vibrations of truth, simplicity and love here at Herakhan Vishwa Mahadham. Bhole Baba ki Jai !

Day 8

Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Welcome to Astami, the 8th day of Chaitra Navaratri. Our chairman, Shri Alok Banerjee, will now guide us into the eight havan of the 9 day yagna dedicated to our omnipotent Divine Mother Durga and to the Sathguru, Shri Shri 1008 Haidakhan whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti & Shri Vinod Acharya will now recite rhithmically the havan mantra’s and sloka’s to create a vibration calling Divine presence here. These vibrations are purifying, energizing and healing for our body, mind and soul. On this powerful moment, it is good to realize the truth that one day we are going to die. After being born, this is the only security we have in our lives. The power of maya prevents us most of the time from seeing that we are souls travelling thru time and space, gathering experience to come home into our Divine essence. We act like if life will go on forever while racing towards our deadline. When our days are really numbered however, our focus drastically changes. The Divine and our loved ones are receiving much more attention, while all the trivial things we run after and mostly occupy our mind with, are loosing fast our attention. So, for our benefit, it is good to keep an urgency in our spiritual practice, in our seva to humanity and focus on what really matters in life. It is not likely you are going to die today, but for Mahishashur, the demon who represents our ego, it looks very different on Astami. Today Maha Gauri, The Devi in Her most powerful radiant form conquers the most powerful demonic force, the human ego. We with help of the Divine Mother killing our own ego seems a conflicting idea and has not yielded a lot of success here in India or otherwise. It is with Her clear white Light that she illumines our consciousness, our awareness, so we can become aware how we are entertaining, feeding, fighting and dancing with our ego and so maintaining it. The powerful vibrations here now are shining thru the eyes of many of us here. Ego is manifesting as easy in a spiritual minded person, a Babaji devotee, as any body else in this world. We are just very fortunate to have Babaji, the Sathguru as our guide and should heed all the advice He has given us searching for Him in our own heart. He has come to give, so let us be ready here and now at this powerful moment to receive His light, His grace, His inspiration. Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Shri Maha Gauri ki Jai ! Durga Maya ki Jai !

Day 9

Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Blessings upon us all, Brothers and Sisters, as we are about to complete a most wonderful Chaitra Navaratri of the Samvat 2074, the year according to the Vedic calendar. On this blessed moment our celebrated chairman Shri Alok Banerjee will conclude with the last havan the 9 day yagna dedicated to the omnipresent Divine Mother Durga and to our gracious Lord who is beyond time and space, Shri Shri 1008 Herakhan whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti and Shri Vinod Acharya are reciting the Havan Mantra’s for the naumi havan and are completing their highly valuable task here. All the purifying, energizing and nurturing puma’s and rituals to the Mother are coming to and end, but our quest of dominating our lower nature and making our Divine essence shine thru continues. We pray that you have been inspired by the Divine and Babaji’s presence here at Herakhan Vishwa Mahadham. Such a great festival can only happen if we all do our prayers and our duties. During Babaji’s physical presence you were a guest on the day you arrived and on the next day you were the host looking after the new arrivals. This is an invitation to be part of this lovely teaching where one soul washes the hand of the other. Spreading His message of Truth, Simplicity and Love in your way, letting it shine thru in your actions will offer others the chance to get uplifted in these Divine vibrations. In doing so your life will be filled with Babaji presence and aiding His mission to uplift humanity. He will teach us from your own heart, if we learn to pay attention and learn to listen beyond our mind. Awareness is the key in all our actions ! Thank you all for coming and being here, it would not have been the same without you. For those who are staying, thank you for helping to clean and put the ashram back to the usual and for those who are leaving, we wish you safe travels and abide in peace. All is said only the poornahooti is left to perform and the grace and blessings will descend upon us. Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Durga Maya ki Jai ! Jagat Guru Shri Herakhan Bhagwan ki Jai !

Day 10

Bhole Baba ki Jai ! Welcome to Dashmi, the 10th day of Navaratri but separately celebrated. On this day, the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana in the Ramayana epic. This is the backbone of the Hindu culture and also a beautiful story of Divine powers conquering evil forces. Lord Rama had enormous help from Shri Hanuman who, with his one pointed love and devotion for the Divine Rama, could transform himself as a tiny humble being as well as a huge ferocious creature able to confront all the malicious forces coming at them. Please contemplate the deep symbolism in this enchanting legend and see how the underlying truths of this are just as valid today as thousands of years back when they were drawn up. They are clear and practical guidelines for the earnest seeker of truth, as well as for the devotee lost in bhakti yoga repeating, chanting the name of the Divine. It is pure His grace that we have arrived at Shri Babaji’s lotus feet, but from here the work only starts. Calling Babaji our Guru, we must be willing to learn and follow His simple guidelines to the best of our abilities. We have been carrying around in our ignorance, perhaps for life times, heavy loads of painful burdens. Lord Vishwanath has arrived in our life to help us and relieve us from that burden. We need to be very honest with ourselves to see the miserable state we are in, to be open for change. Just copying some of the rituals here may give some satisfaction, but is not going to do for you what self reflection and honest awareness in your actions and thought process will do. With our faith in Babaji and this practice we can confront our most forceful demons, as can learn also from the Ramayana epic full of pure wisdom. Being Babaji’s devotee does not necessarily make your life easier but it will make it so much richer and worth living if we walk His path by His guidance. He has promised us Abhayan, His full protection. Take His hand, brothers and sisters, and walk His path, have faith, He is always with us whether you are aware of it or not. Now Shri Alok Banerjee, our cherished chairman, will lead us into the Dasmi havan dedicated to Lord Rama Chandra, the embodiment of Dharma and truth as well as to our beloved guide and Guru, Shri Shri 1008 Herakhan whale Baba. Shri Mayapatti and Shri Vinod Acharya are reciting the Sanskrit havan mantra’s and sloka’s. Be inspired by the Divine vibrations of this sacred fire.

The name Dussehra is derived from Sanskrit Dasha-hara literally means removal of ten referring to Lord Rama’s victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravana. It also means the victory of good over 10 bad qualities like anger, greed, jealousy, selfishness, cruelty etc.
The day also marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasur.
The name Vijayadashami is also derived from the Sanskrit words “Vijaya-dashmi” literally meaning the victory on the dashmi (Dashmi being the tenth lunar day of the Hindu calendar month).
There are many stories why we celebrate Dussehra. Here are some of them.
On this day in the Treta Yug, Rama, also called Shri Ram, the seventh avatar of Vishnu, killed the great demon Ravana who had kidnapped Rama’s wife Sita to his kingdom of Lanka. Rama, his brother Lakshmana, their follower Hanuman and an army of monkeys fought a great battle to rescue Sita. The entire narrative is recorded in the epic Ramayana, a Hindu scripture.
Rama had performed “Chandi Homa” and prayed for the blessings of Durga, who blessed Rama with secret knowledge of the way to kill Ravana. On the day of Ashvin Shukla Dashami, Rama’s party found Sita and defeated Ravana. Thus it is termed as Vijaya Dashami. People celebrate the victory of good over bad by burning effigy’s of Raavana.
Ashvin Shukla Dashami happens on autumn navaratri (ashwin navaratri) and don’t happen on spring (caitra) Navaratri. Bhole Baba ki jay
